GSK Execs Ordered To Stop Selling Resveratrol Online
Glaxo Smith Kline executives Michelle Dipp and Christoph Westphall (the former CEO of Sirtris) have been ordered by GSK to stop selling resveratrol online as part of the Healthy Lifespan Institute. The two resigned from the Healthy Lifespan Institute earlier today. The product being offered is a 250 mg. resveratrol capsule.
Editor's Note: GSK, who paid $720 million for Sirtris Pharmaceuticals and its resveratrol technology, is seemingly threatened by resveratrol sold as a dietary supplement as it could cannibalize the new chemicals it is developing. Further, resveratrol is proving to be effective a much smaller doses than once thought possible.
