Resveratrol Helps Treat Ulcerative Colitis and Prevent Colon Cancer

In a recent study some mice with ulcerative colitis (an inflamatory disease of the large intestine) were given resveratrol in their food while other mice with the disease were not given resveratrol.  Not only did the mice fed resveratrol have less incidence of ulcerative colitis (e.g. less inflammation), but they had a 60% less chance of contracting colon cancer than the mice not fed resveratrol.
