Resveratrol Improves Heart Performance in Humans
Australian researchers revealed results of a study where 99% pure resveratrol (resVida branded product) improved human cardiovascular performance. In the study, 14 overweight men and 5 postmenopausal women all with hypertension were given 3 doses of resveratrol (either 30, 70, or 270 mg.) per day. The participants who received the 30 mg. dose experienced a 62% increase in the diameter of their arteries whereas the participants who received a 270 mg. dose experienced a 91% increase (an increase in artery diameter, which increases blood flow, is known as flow-mediated dilatation. Flow-mediated dilatation is linked to the healthy functioning of the cardiovascular system).
Editor’s Note: this study is just another indication that resveratrol can be healthy for human hearts. According to the resveratrol manufacturer resVida, they are planning, or are conducting, several more human resveratrol studies. As the results of an increasing number of human studies are released, the health benefit of resveratrol supplementation is looking very promising.
